A policy is a system of ultimate aims, practical objectives and means,
pursued by a group and applied by an authority. Though the cultural policy in each
country in the Asia-Pacific region might be differ from one another, the goal of
protecting their own cultures and developing their cultural capacity may be of common
interest to all.
In this section of the website, two different categories of cultural policy documents are presented in order to promote principles of various internationally or regionally agreed upon standard setting instruments in the field of culture, as well as to assist countries in need to further develop their own national cultural policy by learning from the experiences and practices of others. ![]() This section of the website introduces international standard setting instruments such as conventions, recommendations, and declarations by various international organizations including UNESCO, ICOMOS, ICOM, WIPO, UNIDROIT, and the Council of Europe. ![]() This section provides information on different policy measurements developed and implemented at the national level including general policy background and specific laws in the field of culture. |
